Not all fondants are the same. My edible pearls are handmade using a professional grade fondant, which has a wonderful vanilla flavor (unlike the kind found in many retail stores) . After the pearls are rolled they are dusted with a lustrous coating of confectionery luster dust. This is what gives them their beautiful sparkle and shine. There are 1000 6mm pearls per container.
